The Flying Trees are a collection of 3d printed lamps made from mycelium (the roots of fungi) and waste. They were designed to enhance the growth of mycelium by creating interstices and crevasses that protect the organisms from light and airflow. To create that design we took inspiration from the shapes of tree trunks and in particular the Acacia trunks.
