Role Profile
The post holder will work with the small team on the production of different projects which includes the production of furniture, lighting and art pieces made from reprocessed urban waste such as used coffee cups and wood waste.
The job will consist of working on the different steps of the waste processing, managing the supply of material, and assisting with the daily production tasks of the workshop. The post holder will be involved from the beginning to the end of the production process.
Key Duties
Processing the material:
- Transporting material
- Transforming the material
- Keeping the team informed of any problems or lack of supply
Making product:
- Feeding the material into the machinery
- Preparing and cleaning the moulds
- Finishing product
- Keeping the team informed of any problems
- Measuring and classifying all raw materials in preparation for production
- Monitoring the production process
- Operating the production machinery as required, such as lifting equipment and preparing mould
Workshop management:
- Cleaning the workshop to keep the manufacturing space in good condition.
- Assisting the workshop manager to repair and maintain the machine.
- Noting machine faults and reporting to maintenance officers as required.
- Maintaining work areas and equipment in accordance with Health & Safety legislation.
- Cleaning the machinery and other parts of the production space.
Managing the Inventory:
- Maintaining an up to date inventory of the goods and raw materials in the factory or warehouse.
Post-production:
- Performing quality assurance and testing checks.
- Assembling, packing and labelling the finished goods in preparation for shipment.
